Greg Conti

US Military Academy at West Point

Dr. Conti is an Academy Professor and Director of West Point’s Cyber Security Research Center. He is the author of Security Data Visualization (No Starch Press) and Googling Security (Addison-Wesley) as well as over 40 articles covering security visualization, online privacy, and cyber warfare. He is a frequent speaker at leading security conferences including Defcon, Black Hat, and RSA. He recently returned from a deployment as Officer in Charge of Cyber Command’s Expeditionary Cyber Support Element in Iraq.

Tamara Yu

MIT Lincoln Laboratory 

Ms. Yu is an As sociate Technical Staff member in the Cyber Systems Technolo g y Group at MIT Lincoln Laboratory. Her research interests lie in user int erface design and data visualization as applied to computer security, network operations testing, and data mining. She helped build the Lincoln Adaptable Real-time Information Assurance Testbed (LARIAT), a network emulation platform. More recently, she developed systems for monitoring cyber threats, including EMBER, which displays geographic regions where malicious activity differs from what is expected based on local factors.

Anita D’Amico

Secure Decisions

Dr. D’Amico is the D irector of Secure Decisions, a division of Applied Visions, Inc. She is a human factors psychologist and specialist in information security s ituational awareness. Her current work focuses on information visualization for network defense, cyber attack mission impact, and wireless risk analysis. She holds a U.S. Patent and has authored numerous papers on security visualization. Dr. D’Amico recently testified on cyber security R&D before the Congressional Subcommittee on Science and Technology.

Marc Abbott

US Military Academy at West Point

Mr. Abbott is a special projects developer for the USMA Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. He is a US Army officer with experience in systems administration and penetration testing. His research interests include high-dimension data visualization, visual data mining, signals analysis and cryptography.

John Gerth
Emeritus Chair

 

Stanford University

John Gerth is manager of the Computer Graphics Lab and Information Security Officer for the EE and CS Departments at Stanford University. His research interests in visual analytics and high performance databases have led to practical network forensic tools. He currently has grants from DHS and IARPA for research in visualization for network security.
