IEEE VAST, founded in 2006, is the first international symposium dedicated to advances in visual analytics science and technology. The scope of the symposium, co-located with the annual IEEE Visualization Conference and the IEEE InfoVis Conference, is based on the research agenda published in the book Illuminating the Path: The Research and Development Agenda for Visual Analytics, J. J. Thomas and K. A. Cook, editors, IEEE CS Press.
